The elections process consists of everything between collecting nominations for board, the Election Night, finalizing the election results with the Elections Shura Council, and finally allowing the six elected candidates to appoint two additional members to complete their board.
The training stage consists of the online training curriculum and the board leadership summit.
In the same email that informs candidates of their election, candidates will be instructed to read through the online training curriculum and complete all comprehension quizzes before the date of the Board Leadership Summit. This training curriculum includes general and role-specific task and event instructions that candidates will be expected to make use of during their term.
The Board Leadership Summit is a mandatory weekend-long training attended by the members of the current and newly-elected boards. Located at the campgrounds of a state park, the serene environment and limited cell service is well suited for reflection about the essence of Islamic leadership and engaging in team-building activities.
The transition stage consists of one-on-one meetings between current board members and their respective new board members and completing the final transition checklist.
After the Board Leadership Summit and before the end of the semester, every current board member must schedule a one-on-one meeting with their respective new board member of the same position. During the meeting, current board members will review the relevant pages of the online training curriculum and ensure that the new board member's questions are answered. The board members should also discuss personal goals and share any relevant advice and resources.
