¶ Overview
Other projects could include Quran circles, digital libraries, dua cards, masjid prayer groups, and more. Projects could also be headed by community members. Below are previous projects that are highly recommended to continue.
¶ Quran Circle
The brothers/sisters Quran circle consists of a group of community members learning how to read Quran with proper tajweed, etc. It is led by a community member who is qualified to teach it.
Ask around to find a qualified community member who is interested in leading it. The brothers/sisters director may be helpful in connecting you. Once you have an interested community member, give them a basic structure of how the Quran circle has been faciliatated in the past:
- Class meets up once a week for about an hour in an Eshleman room (booked by you).
- Curriculum is developed by the teacher but usually consists of a few weeks in the learning letters and tajweed, then memorizing.
- Classes usually consist of 5-10 people. Classes could be split up if the teacher has the time.
Of course, the teacher has discretion on how they want to structure the circle, the structure above is just how it has worked in the past.
¶ Islamic Reminder Cards
These are small cards with Islamic reminders, usually duas. They can be passed out during Community Night or other events, be at the table, or placed in the Meditation Room. They are made on Canva using the business card template. Unfortunately the template can't be shared but here is an example:
